What makes metallic floors unique
Metallic epoxy is a clear resin mixed with fine metallic pigments. While it is wet, we move the material with rollers, brushes, sprayers and air to create swirls, ripples and depth. As it cures, the pigments settle and reflect light in different directions, giving the floor a three-dimensional look. No two floors look alike.
These floors work well in converted garages, casitas, game rooms, home offices, home theaters, salons, boutiques and showrooms. They also make a bold statement in a garage that houses a prized car or truck.
Color options
Copper, bronze and gold blends feel warm and suit the desert tones of the valley. Silver, charcoal and white blends look cool and modern. Blues and greens evoke water and stone. We can mix two or three colors for more movement. Sample boards help you choose, and we recommend viewing them in the room where the floor will go.
Preparation is everything
Metallic epoxy shows every flaw in the slab underneath. We grind thoroughly, fill cracks and pinholes, and smooth any rough areas. A primer and an opaque base coat create a uniform surface. Then the metallic layer goes down in one continuous pour, worked carefully across the whole room.
Converted garages and casitas
Many homeowners here convert part of the garage or build a casita for family, guests or rental use. Concrete floors in those spaces are often uneven or patched. A metallic floor covers those flaws and creates a finished look without the cost of tile or wood. It is cool underfoot in summer, easy to clean and handles pets and kids well.
Business spaces
Salons, barbershops, boutiques and small showrooms use metallic floors to stand out. The seamless surface is easy to clean and holds up to chairs and foot traffic. A clear topcoat with slip resistance keeps the floor safe for customers.
Durability
Metallic floors are hard and resistant to stains, but gloss shows scratches more than flake floors. We finish with a tough urethane or polyaspartic topcoat that resists wear and UV light. Felt pads under furniture and mats at entries help keep the shine.
Sun and windows
Metallic epoxy looks especially beautiful in sunlight, but direct UV can yellow standard epoxy. Rooms with big windows or sliding doors get a UV-stable topcoat so the colors stay true. Blinds or window film can also reduce heat and glare during summer afternoons.
Timeline
Metallic floors typically take two to three days: prep and primer, metallic pour and topcoat. Light foot traffic is usually fine after a day, and furniture can return after a few days.
Maintenance
Dust mop often, especially with valley dust, and clean with a pH-neutral cleaner. Avoid abrasive pads. Wipe spills promptly. A fresh topcoat years later restores the shine.
Questions
Can I see my exact design ahead of time?
We show samples and photos, but every pour is unique.
Is it slippery?
Gloss can be slick when wet. We add texture to the topcoat if needed.
Can it go over tile?
In some cases, with proper prep. We assess during the estimate.

Planning furniture and layout
Before the pour, we talk about where furniture, rugs and lighting will go. Strong swirls look best in open areas where they are visible, while calmer movement suits spaces under tables or beds. If the room has a focal point like a fireplace, a window with a mountain view or a reception desk, we can direct the flow of the design toward it. A little planning makes the finished floor feel intentional instead of random.
Pets and kids
Metallic floors handle family life better than many expect. Paw prints and spilled juice wipe right up, and there are no grout lines or carpet fibers to trap messes. A satin topcoat hides small scratches from claws and toy cars, while a textured additive improves footing for older dogs. Trim pet nails regularly and keep a mat under food and water bowls to protect the shine. Children's rooms and playrooms with metallic floors stay cool in summer and clean in minutes, which is why many families choose them for casitas and bonus rooms.
